What land-based casinos can I visit in or near Ottawa?
games · Last reviewed June 28, 2026
Ottawa players have two main land-based options — one in Ontario, and one just across the river in Quebec.
In Ottawa (Ontario)
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is Canada's first Hard Rock casino-hotel, opened on 3 July 2025 on the site of the former Rideau Carleton in the city's south end. The roughly $350-million resort has up to 1,500 slot machines, 40 live table games, a 150-room hotel and the 1,900-seat Hard Rock Live venue.
Across the river (Quebec)
Casino du Lac-Leamy sits in Gatineau, about a 10-minute drive from downtown Ottawa. Run by Loto-Québec, it has more than 1,400 slots, 48 tables, a poker lounge and an attached Hilton hotel. Note that it is in a different province with its own rules (legal gambling age 18, versus Ontario's 19).
